Continuing Issues

1.      The continuing flooding condition on Arundel Road -- drain clogged or no drain -- I'm not sure which.

2.   The traffic islands on 30th Street right off of Queens Chapel Road that are more of an accident getting ready to happen than there original purpose had intended. (should also put more effort in getting a traffic light at 30th Street and Queens Chapel Road)

3.   Planning for the next City Election -- where will it be held; the election process; revamping of the election procedures for the City

4.  Developing credibility of the Mayor and Council (those elected to represent all constituents)

5.   Motivating citizens to participate in the affairs of the City through volunteerism; personal pride in the City; and collectively

6.   Converting/using a City property into a recreation facility for our youth -- this is one of the most urgent needs in our City. One idea would be to seek assistance from MNCPPC to re-institute recreation programs in one of our schools

7.   Developing a Citywide strategic plan for economic development and restoration that includes other parts of Mt. Rainier (Kaywood Shopping Center)

8.   Schools with books and other resources for instruction -- Many teachers feel that they are placed in a very awkward position by the school system (expected to teach our children, but not given the resources they need to do it with). Yes, our schools are run by the County, but when was the last time the Mayor and Council took on the School Board to ensure that our inner City schools were receiving the books and resources they need to make our community schools the best they can be?

9.   Citywide personnel issues -- personnel/employee policy manual; accounting procedural manual; pay scales; etc.

10. Resurfacing of many of streets; curbs and gutters; and sidewalks

There are others on my agenda, and they represent the wishes of many of our Citizens. Not necessarily in priority order
