Continuing Issues

continuing flooding condition on

The traffic islands on 30th Street right off of Queens Chapel Road that are
more of an accident getting ready to happen than there original purpose had
intended. (should also put more effort in getting a

Planning for the next City Election -- where will it
be held; the election process; revamping of the election procedures for the
City

Developing credibility of the Mayor and Council (those elected to represent all
constituents)

Motivating citizens to participate in the affairs of the City through
volunteerism; personal pride in the City; and collectively

Converting/using a City property into a recreation facility for our youth --
this is one of the most urgent needs in our City. One idea would be to seek
assistance from MNCPPC to re-institute recreation programs in one of our
schools

Developing a Citywide strategic plan for economic development and restoration
that includes other parts of

Schools with books and other resources for instruction -- Many teachers feel
that they are placed in a very awkward position by the school system (expected
to teach our children, but not given the resources they need to do it with).
Yes, our schools are run by the County, but when was the last time the Mayor
and Council took on the School Board to ensure that our inner City schools were
receiving the books and resources they need to make our community schools the
best they can be?

Citywide personnel issues -- personnel/employee policy manual; accounting
procedural manual; pay scales; etc.
10.
Resurfacing of many of streets; curbs and gutters; and sidewalks
There are others on my agenda, and they represent the wishes of
many of our Citizens. Not necessarily in priority order
